Who we are?

Orange Field is an award winning tea factory engaged in the manufacture of Ceylon black tea catering to the Middle -Eastern market and the C-I-S Countries (Commonwealth of Independent States). The factory is situated in Panwilatenne, a very small hamlet in Kandy District, Sri Lanka, within close proximity to Loolecondera estate where tea was grown for the first time by the legendary James Taylor.Established in the year 1950 the factory produces Black Tea from leaves grown by about 750 small farmers in the western medium elevation category.

                                                   

Our Mission

We aim to be the most outstanding ‘Bought Leaf Tea Factory’ in the western medium elevational category in respect to product quality and human resource development. Our Vision is to accomplish our mission through improving and protecting the well-being of all our suppliers, introducing modern and appropriate equipment and machinery, recognizing the workers who are most valuable assets in our organization and directing all processes to improve productivity in an environmentally friendly ecosystem.

Our Awards

*2018 - "Total Excellence in Tea Production" Kandy district 1st runner up awarded by Tea Export Association of Sri Lanka.

*2012 -"Best Tea Factory" in small manufactures Gampola region awarded by the president of Sri Lanka Hon. Mahinda Rajapaksa at  the Natioanl Plantation Award Ceremony.

*2002 -"Specialty Tea of the Year" declared joint winner by the Colombo Tea Traders Association.​

* 2002 - "Ceylon Estate Tea of the year" runner up awarded at the 57th U.S.A Tea Convention held in California.
